Time for another classic track !...I remember hearing this on the radio..and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was STYX !!
Everytime I spin this and that first track hits, it takes me back to me and my old friend Danny that I've known since I was 5. We've rocked out for many years.
We'd sing STYX songs for hours and emulate JY's insane vibrato!
At all costs, pick up STYX and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra! All the classics performed to perfection with added bonuses. I'm a STYX fan for over 36 years!....
Is that a DVD release Swampking? What year was it recorded?
Yes! It's a fairly recent release and available on both DVD and CD. However, the DVD is far better as you can witness the commentary and extras. It's available, though I purchased it new, used on most trading sites ie: ebay. Although i always encourage fans both old and new to buy new and from the artist. If you choose to go that method try .._--[ Welcome To StyxWorld.com ]--_... You can get on their mailing list as well. Lots of good info. myspace.styxtheband.com as well.
for your STYX listening pleasure you may consider as well these solo pieces: Dennis Deyoung- Back to the world avail @Dennis Deyoung.com and Tommy Shaw- Ambition avail @ tommy's web page "chrystal ball". For a harder rock style but with Tommy on rythem guitar and vocals (with his best friend Jack blades-Night Ranger, Ted Nugent lead guitar, and Michael Cartelonni drums) get Damn Yankees. Tommy and Jack just releasd "influence" a great rendition of their personal fav's performed by them. ENJOY!!!
^^I like their early "Prog" phase myself MP, they were much more than just an "Arena Rock" band.(I hate that term myself.)
I have picked up a few more albums since I visited this thread last, Cornerstone, Paradise Theater and Kilroy Was Here. So I do believe I have almost all of their albums from the Mk I and Mk II line ups now.
