From 1974 to 2009! 35 years under this banner, overcoming deaths and personnel changes, this unit has been a force to be reckoned with ever since the "critics" wanted to bury them the first year!
A cheers to the history of these 4 classic Shock Rockers who made growing up in the 70's a BLAST!!
I am not the biggest Kiss fan, but because of some "Influential" members in the forum I have about 7 of their albums now, I had a greatest hits compilation but that really isn't the best way to dig deep into a band.
I'm Here & I'm looking down at my Creem Magazine July 1976
I also have these someplace in the house
The 70's were great being a Kiss fan. I was constantly going to little corner deli stores to see if any new magazines with Kiss in it were out.It was always such a rush seeing them on the cover of a magazine. I read them all Creem,Rock Scene,Circus,Hit Parader, Rock, Super Rock, Grooves,Rocket,....Hell I even bought Super Teen,16, & Teen Machine if they were on the cover!
Thanks Bucky!! I had all those magazines too..in fact I had quite a few years of CREEM but that's another thread! Rock Scene, Grooves...man the memories!!
Alive! provided KISS with their first Gold record. By the end of January 1976 the album had gone platinum.
One thing I always respected about Kiss was their loyalty to their fans and the music they played, and to hell with the critics and purists. They knew what their fans wanted and delivered the goods for decades.
I will finally have some time this week to play the albums you rec'd and I think I'll start with "The Elder", Magic seems impressed with that one.
Gene Simmons and his lizzard tongue. I was about 15 when KISS was pretty popular amongst my peers, and all the boys would do that at us girls, which totally grossed me out.
this video should really irritate Snakes & Ladders
