Maria Muldar - Midnight At The Oasis. Maybe a little lightweight to some and she's not a super vocalist but this song sure kicks up the mouth-breathing along with some great pop hooks in there. Every time I hear it, it places me back in 74. I remember my mom changing the station in the car when this came on. She thought it was like a porn song or something.
Despite eating a Suzi Quatro album around 1980 I really enjoy her music nowadays, especially lately after seeing the Runaways movie(I always felt a connection between her & Jett). I love her album 'Quatro' with "Wild One" & rocking covers of "Trouble" which Elvis made popular & Little Richard's "Keep a Knockin'". I also liked her 2006 comeback album 'Back to the Drive' which is well worth the money for the title track alone.
I was into Heart pretty heavy back in the 70's & still enjoy them.
& of course I can't forget The Sic F*cks featuring Tish & Snookie whose tunes "Chop Up Your Mother","Insects Rule the World", & "Spanish Bar Mitzvah" must be he heard by everyone
Gotta be Fanny. By chance, saw them on an old episode of Old Grey Whistle Test and just had to get all their albums. One of the best things I ever did.
Fanny is a great 70's band. They had a good beat and soul to their musicI loved the keyboards in their songs..Here are 2 songs from 1971..."You're The One" and "Special Care".
Someone mentioned Girlschool. I didn't think they were that bad. Their bass player was kinda cute and rocked out.
(I know that the Jett song is from 1980...I just like the Blackhearts substantially more than the Runaways.)
