See how many you guys recognize:
Sir Lord Baltimore
Budgie
Dust
Captain Beyond
Night Sun
Cactus
Bloodrock
Toad
Lucifer's Friend
Point Blank
Three Man Army
Trapeze
Randy Holden
West, Bruce And Laing
Hard Stuff
Stray
Jeronimo
Hawkwind
Flower Travellin' Band
Some of those are pretty obscure, no doubt, but all of them released albums that are definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in 70's rock. |
Great list, Glad to see Point Blank listed. |

Yeah, killer band, and definitely forgotten. The first two albums are essential for anyone who digs early ZZ Top. They were also managed by Bill Ham. |

| Re: Best Forgotten Bands of the 70's. Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel had this song...
I think it was called "Running Wild"
In 1974, I heard that song 950 times.
Since 1974, I think I've heard it TWICE.
Once at the end of that movie "Velvet Goldmine" and once in some sort of t.v. show or something.
good song. |

| Re: Best Forgotten Bands of the 70's. Just started looking over this list and I have to agree with Gearjammer that many of the bands are hardly forgotten. However, April Wine is rather obscure for most folks today and I really liked them.
I thought everyone knew about Ted Nugent with Amboy Dukes but I think I might just know about Amboy Dukes cause I live in Michigan and we all know about Ted. Well, most people do.

You've identified my worst nightmare! But will they be 70s rockers, Spider Man clones or the morbidly obese from the gym?
