I didn't post the article link to compare the two. It's just the article I was reading recently. I'm sure there are a few articles out there of Bruce praising Steve as well. They are both great songwriter's in my opinion.

I like Bruce best alone on things like Nebraska and The Ghost Of Tom Joad.

They are both great songwriter's.

Steve Earle is the man! One of my favourite songwriters! He has a new album coming out. It's called "Terraplane" and will be released on February 17th.

Terraplane Track Listing:

1. Baby Baby Baby (Baby)
2. Youíre The Best Lover That I Ever Had
3. The Tennessee Kid
4. Ainít Nobodyís Daddy Now
5. Better Off Alone
6. The Usual Time
7. Go Go Boots Are Back
8. Acquainted With The Wind
9. Babyís Just As Mean As Me
10. Gambliní Blues
11. King Of The Blues

The album cover (which is awesome):

And a couple of tracks from the album:

Still haven't gotten this one, so I'll have to remedy that soon. I like the tunes I have heard so far.

This is a performance before Steve Earle was imprisoned. He's looking pretty rough and the video is sketchy, but it's hard to question his passion. The set list is one of my favorites.

Steve Earle Live Acoustic Show: 1991 Live at McCabes

Setlist:
The Other Kind
Have Mercy
Hometown Blues
Devil's Right Hand
Sometimes She Forgets
Johnny Come Lately
So Different Blues
Limousine Blues
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
Regular Guy
Close Your Eyes
Copperhead Road
CCKMP

I've been on a Steve Earle marathon today while I burned a few movies....

Love, love, love Copperhead Road.

Transcendental Blues is another good album. When I first heard this album, I thought I was hearing Bob Dylan sing.....lol.....but that's not a bad thing, really, since the music is nothing but pure rocking blues.

here is a Transcendental Blues Playlist:

An interesting album is Townes....where he sings Townes Van Zant. Not the best album, but he does Van Zant justice. Townes Van Zant had an very interesting life story and I feel Steve Earle did a wonderful job of covering Van Zant's life music.

The best Townes Van Zant cover I've heard is Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard "Poncho and Lefty" but Steve Earle did it right, too:

Steve Earle has just released a new album, a collaborative album with Shawn Colvin. It's a mixture of self-written songs and cover songs.

Colvin & Earle track list:

01. Come What May
02. Tell Moses
03. Tobacco Road
04. Ruby Tuesday
05. The Way That We Do
06. Happy & Free
07. You Were on My Mind
08. Youíre Right (Iím Wrong)
09. Raise the Dead
10. Youíre Still Gone
11. Someday
12. That Donít Worry Me Now
13. Babyís in Black

With these two involved it couldn't really go wrong and it didn't. A great album which I highly recommend.
