Must have been .... I get around ... that first got me interested in the boys

so dynamic... so full of energy...

God only knows.......... awesome song or wot ? .... is that a song or a hymn ?

I have the feeling that Paul Mac heard that song and thought...
"Wish I could write a song as good ! "

I've been looking through this thread, and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned 'Sunflower'.My favourite and surely one of their underrated classics.

I've heard about that one several times.Obviously overshadowed by "Pet Sounds" and their early period LP's with the so many hit songs, this one does generally make the middle or lower regions of best ever albums.Plus,by this time in their career,I don't believe the band was getting the proper promotions they deserved and certainly earned.People wanted to hear things similar to the 1963-66 period.I know Brian Wilson claimed that poor promotion was why "Smiley Smile" failed to make the top forty in '67.Quite possible..........

Once again Harmonies is what draws me to this band. These guys voices just blend so well together and to go with the musical genius of Brian Wilson no wonder this group was a huge success. I have seen Brian Wilson perform with the only other original member Al Jardine with him and also Al Jardine's Son was also in the band. Brian may not be able to hit those really high notes now that go to Al Jardin's Son, but he is certainly still brilliant.

My Gramma took me to see Brian Wilson play when she had to watch me one weekend recently because Mom had an out of town work thing going on and I really didn't want to go, but boy was I wrong. He was amazing and that got me to listening to some of Gramma's other Beach Boys and Classic Rock music and it just blows away the stuff I was listening to. So this guy is the one who got me started and also my Gramma of course.

"Sounds" was indeed a watershed moment amidst the refreshing free falls of 1960's pop music innovations as well as it may have been the single most glorious effort put forth by Phil Spector's mighty "Wrecking Crew".Well beyond the imaginations of most writers and producers of the period, this one will boldly stand the ages as s key stroke in the advent of album rock as art form.....

Unearthed a cassette copy of Beach Boys '69:Live in London" Displays a band that really knew how to put on a truly satisfying, feel good concert. Here,California's favorite sons are both musically brilliant as well as they play a rather collectively congenial party host,as evidenced via the occasional bantering with their audience, one that voted them England's favorite vocal group in '66 even eclipsing the Fab Four themselves.Wish there was a live album available featuring one of the shows they did on tour with Buffalo Springfield and Strawberry Alarm Clock in '67-'68,complete with tunes supplied by the latter named bands.....
