They are more garage/psych but it counts - THE THIRD BARDO
The Third Bardo were an American psychedelic rock band from New York led by singer Jeff Monn. The group existed for a brief time in the late 1960s. In 1967 they released their only single, "I'm Five Years Ahead of My Time." This song received some radio exposure, but only years later was recognized as a 1960s rock classic due to its inclusion in compilations such as the critically acclaimed Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968 Box Set.
The Third Bardo only had one recording session, which yielded six tracks in all, and released one other song as a B-side, "Rainbow Life." The band broke up in 1967 and Monn began a solo career as Chris Moon.
I Love this band! too bad they only made 5 songs.
some of my favorites:
the count five
the electric prunes
I've been listening to a lot of Blues Magoos lately...
The elevator called me up.
She said you better start making sense.
The stone was bleeding, whirling in the waltz.
I went to see her majesty. The court had no suspense.
She said, "Dream dreams the dreamer."
I said it's not my fault.
