The Third Bardo were an American psychedelic rock band from New York led by singer Jeff Monn. The group existed for a brief time in the late 1960s. In 1967 they released their only single, "I'm Five Years Ahead of My Time." This song received some radio exposure, but only years later was recognized as a 1960s rock classic due to its inclusion in compilations such as the critically acclaimed Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968 Box Set.
The Third Bardo only had one recording session, which yielded six tracks in all, and released one other song as a B-side, "Rainbow Life." The band broke up in 1967 and Monn began a solo career as Chris Moon.

I Love this band! too bad they only made 5 songs.

some of my favorites:

The Castaways were good:

Awesome! I found Psychedelic Lollipop in a used record store a couple of weeks ago, and I was stoked. It's probably one of the most appropriate album titles I've ever heard too. They're an excellent mix of Stones-esque garage rock, psychedelia, and bubblegum.

The Monks - Monk Time

Great music, very punk-like.

I'm only going by one song, but I love the Syndicate of Sound. "Little Girl" is a stone classic.

I'm so glad to know the fact that The Sonics are still standing on the stage.

Was always partial to the Standells. Very raw sounding and believe or not they are not from Boston, although they became very popular there. I wonder why. They were originally from Los Angeles. Very raw sounding.
