smile 60's Garage Rock Bands

What are your favourite 60's Garage Rock bands .. Little or well known .. post about them here ...

The Cherry Slush ~

"Saginaw, MI garage band the Cherry Slush formed in mid-1965. Originally known as the Wayfarers and later the Captives, in late 1966 the group tapped local legend Dick Wagner of Detroit sensations the Bossmen and the Frost, and later a sought-after session player to produce their debut single "She'll Be Back." The record earned regional attention, and the Cherry Slush next traveled to Cleveland to cut the follow-up, 1967's "I Cannot Stop You". The single was a smash throughout southeast Michigan, reportedly selling in excess of 75,000 copies. The band recorded its third single, "Day Don't Come," at Chicago's famed Chess Studios. Though another local blockbuster, it failed to garner attention outside of the Detroit scene. In late 1968, the Cherry Slush recorded their final single, a cover of the Beatles' "Birthday". the following year, the band dissolved. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

They are more garage/psych but it counts - THE THIRD BARDO

The Third Bardo were an American psychedelic rock band from New York led by singer Jeff Monn. The group existed for a brief time in the late 1960s. In 1967 they released their only single, "I'm Five Years Ahead of My Time." This song received some radio exposure, but only years later was recognized as a 1960s rock classic due to its inclusion in compilations such as the critically acclaimed Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968 Box Set.
The Third Bardo only had one recording session, which yielded six tracks in all, and released one other song as a B-side, "Rainbow Life." The band broke up in 1967 and Monn began a solo career as Chris Moon.

Tonto & the Renegades

My First Band - Devoted to amateur garage bands from the 60s.

When we did the records we knew we had something special. We caught the attention of Dick Wagner. He came to us, as did Decca Records!

I had Frost's Frost Music and Through the Eyes of Love on vinyl.

Here's a couple of my favs:

Canadian garage/psych from 1968. I bought this Lp 25 years ago for $7 at used vinyl shop knowing it was worth $150 as it was not listed in the Osbourne Record Price Guide.
