Default Electric Eden (new book about Brit folk-rock)

I've just ordered this mammoth-sized (800-plus pages) book which chronicles the UK folk/rock hybrid spanning the early 60's to the present. It's called Electric Eden and it's written by Rob Young, former editor of The Wire. I know a few of you might be interested and it wouldn't surprise me if some of our overseas friends already have it.

Here's a review from the Guardian to give you a better idea of what it's about.

Electric Eden: Unearthing Britain's Visionary Music by Rob Young | Book review | Books | The Guardian

It's been getting great reviews and I can't wait for my copy to arrive.

^^Some really good bands from that genre I am a fan of Folk/Rock myself and no one did it better than the English bands, at least not in my experience so far.

Interesting book, though not a great fan of "hey-nonny-no / hark hark the lark" songs i still value England's folk heritage and applaud those who strive to preserve it.

..now where did i leave that Hurdey-Gurdey...
