One other thing about Joe Walsh. I believe Jimmy Page and Pete Townshend both got credit for something they picked up from Joe Walsh. A Les Paul through a Marshall.
All the footage of The James Gang from '69-'70 shows Joe with a Les Paul through a Marshall. Page played a Telecaster ( props to Jimmy) and Townshend played Rickenbackers, SG's among others during that era.
It's a well known fact that Joe gave Jimmy Page a '59 Les Paul in 1969 and The James Gang toured with The Who at that same time. And Pete Townshend has said Joe gave him advice on settings.
Coincidence? I think not. Those two pilfered Joe's signature sound faster than you can say Baba O' Reily and Black Dog.

I went to see REO Speedwagon when they were on tour as the backup band to Joe Walsh in the 70's(Can't remember the year). I really liked Gary Richrath's guitar playing. That is why I went to the concert. Richrath was good, but Joe Walsh was great! I always liked The James Gang, but I left that concert a big fan of Joe Walsh. It was a solo tour. It was after Barnstorm.
A friend of mine saw Walsh solo in concert a few years back. It happens that in the show that night were contestants from the Teen USA pageant with chaperones. Well, the irreverent Walsh played THIS song below:
The highly offended group walked out during the song. Oh and he also covered Zappa's "T*****s and Beer" in the set for good measure.

I love Joe Walsh and I don't think he gets the credit he deserves for being not only a great guitarist, but an amazing songwriter as well.
My three favorites of his are Barnstorm, The Smoker You Drink... and So What

Our two lights here forever
One light blent
And through that longing to be one
The parting summons sound is wrong
I'll see you back to travel on
And on and on, around the sun
