| I think Joe probabley saved the Eagles from being labeled a full blown country band and I do like his solo stuff but I'd have to say his best work IMHO is the James Gang. A little tidbit about Joe Walsh: Joe played a prisoner in The Blues Brothers. You'll notice him as the first prisoner to get up on the tables during the Jailhouse Rock song at the end.

| I think "The James Gang Rides Again" is a really fantastic record. I think "Barnstorm" and "The Smoker you Play the Drinker you Get" are pretty close behind. I hate and detest the Eagles with or without Joe but that's another story. |

| Joe Walsh is probably my third favorite guitarist (behind Blackmore and Beck). Mother Says is a great song for from his solo debut. That Barnstorm band is highly underrated. The intro to Meadows (one of his greatest songs IMO) is halarious. So What is my favorite Joe Walsh album. I love the live version of Walk Away on You Can't Argue With A Sick Mind. He and Don Felder tear it up. I like alot of his post Eagles solo stuff. A Life Of Illusion from There Goes The Neighborhood is cool. There is a song on You Bought It You Name It called Shadows that is one of his greatest riffs IMO. I think The Confessor is one of his best albums - probably his last great album. I cant pick a favorite but I know it's certainly his solo stuff and definately not the Eagles. Great slide player, talk box pioneer - he's pretty experimental when he's out of the confines of the Eagles.

| I like how his style of guitar playing is essentially country. Sure, he amps it up but he has a wonderful ear and style. I'm no musician but I can always spot Joe when he's playing on somebody else's track. I guess I'm a fan. I think his albums start getting a little weak beginning with 'So What' but what do I know? |

| I love all incarnations of Joe. He's one of my favorite guitarists and a really cool guy on top of it all. Guess I'd say his The Smoker You Get and Barnstorm period would be my favorite. Heck, I even like him with the Eagles.

| So many great songs from Joe Walsh and I only get to pick one. Not really into his more obscure songs - besides Meadows from The Smoker You Drink.. I'll go with the mainstream and pick Rocky Mountain Way. Love the BOW BOW..BOW BOW....BOW DE DOW DE DOW at the end. Great talkbox! |

| I'd say I like all of Jow Walsh's stuff, but I think the James Gang is the best, and of that era, The Bomber is my personal favorite.

| For me, his all-time masterwork is the Barnstorm album. It's a very serious piece, a little darker than a lot of his other work, and very, very artistic. |

I heard "Peaceful Easy Feeling" on my favorite FM radio station and THAT was the moment that I decided music had gone to hell. now, I'd heard the same song on AM radio and it didn't bother me so much - it seemed to belong there. The Eagles sounded like a cash register to me. Now, I know people have gone into rock and roll to get rich before and always will. Still, what I heard in the music of The Eagles was the sound of rock and roll becoming part of the corporate skeleton that seemed to be reaching every aspect of my life. now, I'm an oldster and I suppose I never really expected 'the counterculture' to last. still, it sounded like Bubblegum music to me and worse, it seemed to me that it's objectives were the same - make 'the kids' buy records. the critics I read and every kid I knew fell in love with The Eagles almost from the beginning. I thought it was an evil plot to control my mind and still did until very recently. besides, Don Henley owes me money! | |
