Default Love vs the doors

The first two rock acts signed to the Elektra label, the Doors' works have enjoyed tumultuous commercial and critical success while LOVE:S seminal FOREVER CHANGES,though universally touted as one of the finest recordings ever, sputtered at a mere #154 on the Biillboard sales chart, mostly due to frontman Arthur Lee's willingness to tour extensively as he felt the project mostly of LA area interest.Despite the Doors' obviously much wider notoriety, bottom line here for me is LOVE exhibited somewhat deeper and more explorative creative platform. What's YOUR take?

They are different enough to a draw for me. Morrison had so much pent up anger...
Arthur was much more laid back.

Jim's father was an Admiral.

Much as I love Forever Changes, The Doors debut remains one of my all time favourite albums. The lyrics and music of the Doors are just so much better than some of the really nonsense lyrics of Love's. -
"Oh, the snot has caked against my pants
It has turned into crystal
There's a bluebird sitting on a branch
I guess I'll take my pistol
I've got it in my hand
Because he's on my land"

What was that about?

@recgord27 I`ll have to say that I`m going to vote with its a drew for me as the nonsense lyrics of Love`s are for a time of the summer love `60`s yes...

Love -- The Red Telephone
Sitting on a hillside
Watching all the people die
I'll feel much better on the other side
I'll thumb a ride

I believe in magic
Why? Because it is so quick
I don't need power when I'm hypnotized
Look in my eyes

What are you seeing (I see)
How do you feel? (you)
I feel real phony when my name is Phil
(Or was that Bill?)

Life goes on here
Day after day
I don't know if I am living
Or if I'm supposed to be

Sometimes my life is so eerie
And if you think I'm happy
Paint me white (yellow)

I've been here once
I've been here twice
I don't know if the third's the fourth
Or if the, the fifth's to fix

Sometimes I deal with numbers
And if you wanna count me
Count me out

I don't need the times of day
Anytime with me's okay
I just don't want you using up my time
'Cause that's not right

They're locking them up today
They're throwing away the key
I wonder who it'll be tomorrow, you or me?
They're locking them up today
They're throwing away the key
I wonder who it'll be tomorrow, you or me?
They're locking them up today
They're throwing away the key
I wonder who it'll be tomorrow, you or me?

We're all normal and we want our freedom
Freedom... freedom... freedom... freedom
Freedom... freedom... freedom... freedom
Alla God's chilluns gotta have dere freedom

They are too different to chose from.
Morrison was the angry, rebellious poet.
Arthur more of the romantic beatnik with an occasional message.
