Hi all, Whobeatle here.. Well after a lukewarm reception in the 80,s and 90's
I thought... I'm ready for some more abuse! Lets make a new album
so I did With the original band!

Mike Finnigan of CSNY and Hendrix came down, and my old pals
from the original band Gary from the Tubes, and Dave from Lucinda Williams
came down and we did a new album BARGOFAXIS

The first sixties concept album of the 21st century! I'll post some links
hopefully someone will like it!

I wrote some songs, we went into Garys basement with three microphones
and the results were pretty good,

Our original producer, Richie Podolor (three dog night, Steppenwolf, Phil Seymour, Alice Cooper,) had retired but we did alright...

and here is a nice interview with Goldmine magazine about the album

Jeff Cameron and the complexity behind 'Bargofaxis' | Goldmine Magazine

to buy the album http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/cameronjeff

or go to amazon, itunes or Emusic

Thats nice of you thank you.

Yes The one and only Mike Finnigan of CSNY, Hendrix, blues fame, sings
all the backing parts on "Feels Like Van Gogh" he worked very quickly, and
spent maybe an hour or 90 minutes on it! laid down three parts, with double
tracking! He was going to produce me once, years ago, when we were practically next door neighbors..I was kind of intimidated by that, his resume and credentials, and he is so tall! and anyway we finally got together on this track, he wants to come in and do a couple more tracks on the next album, he wanted to do more on Bargo, but we ran out of time.

Also Dave Sutton of Lucinda Williams, (From the original Jeff band) played bass and Gary Cambra from the Tubes, (from the original Jeff band) produced and played guitar and drums,

I am supposed to fly into town, and cut a couple new ones with among others
Thom Mooney, (the Nazz) Kim Fowley (producer) and maybe Gary and Dave again,....I dont know if its just for a single or the follow up to Bargo. we havent really decided it all yet,, and Mike Finnigan will come down, and I think my buddy Chuck N, wants to come down, but we'll see on that one.

Right now, I waited 15 years to make another album, right now, just gotta promote Bargofaxis...and maybe if everyone is available.. we will go cut a few tracks in a month or two... I have five or six demos, and no one is quite as keen as they were on the last batch of songs.. I'm thinking of a follow up to Bargo called -Bargo 2 (The story of Porridge)

But we'll see... right now ! Tell your friends about Bargofaxis!

if someone would like a copy but cant afford one, I'll give two or three away to the first two or three people who ask me for one, and signed posters while they last

76 views in this thread...and you'd think someone else would give you the thumbs up?

BTW, I seen Michael Finnigan tour with CSN, years ago...

The man is a studio musician legend...

Here he is jamming on Hammond Organ with Hendrix...

Well thanks for the nice compliments about my friend Mike F. Groovy Man

I suppose people here at classic rock just aren't that keen on my work, or my new album Bargofaxis in particular.

Or just so uninterested they don't even listen to the album.

Mike Finnigan is certainly a legend, hell right now he has been on the road
with Joe Cocker and Taj Mahall before that! He was in Crosby Stills Nash (Young) for half a dozen albums over a 25-30 year span, not to mention
Hendrix, Janis Joplin, his solo albums, Ringo Starr, and god knows who else.

But sadly I suppose the thread was supposed to be about my great new
studio album BARGOFAXIS!

if its any consolation, Mike F. was very flattering about the album, he at least
seemed to really like it! He thought the one he sang on sounded like the beatles, I disagree, I think that one sounds more like a lost peter gabriel song.

there is a tentative super session with Me , Mike F, Thom Mooney from the Nazz, and some other similar people.. but if people keep ignoring Bargo I may have to cancel it for lack of interest, I have to have some slim chance of at least getting the costs back LOL

Retro 60's pop flair, beatlesque with some Dylan thrown in. The vocal harmonies are superb. I wouldnt mind listening to the whole album

Whobeatle...I apologize if I went on talking about Michael Finnigan in your thread.

I'd like to hear the whole album...

it's groovy...it's very Beatlesish...which is good!

When I get a chance...I'm gonna order the album...I just sampled more of the album from your link...so, I'll let you know...

Is the album getting any air play anywhere?

are you going to do a promo tour?

You should send a copy to Tom Petty....he'd love it...who knows? - maybe you could open a few shows for him!

I'm serious!

OK, well, I got a chance to listen to the full BARGOFAXIS album...

and I'm not big on writing fancy big reviews, but this album is pretty fantastic...

it really is!

I can honestly say there isn't a bad song on the album, I'm impressed...

It's Beatleish - as a matter of fact, I could almost hear Ringo recording two or three of these songs...

Seriously, I could picture Ringo singing ''Wandering Man''

And ''Love Is More Than A Miracle'' and ''Whatever Happened Sunday''...

I mean I could go on...but I really dug this album a lot...and don't know what else to say, but everyone should give this album a good listen...

And while it's Beatleish, it very BARGOFAXIS! They have their own thing going on.

Lots of things going on during each song - well crafted songs with great lyrics!

And great muscians - this isn't a bar band!

I really like the opening track, ''Getting In Gear'' a real rocker that would sound good on the radio...

actually, all of the songs sound very radio friendly. This album would sound great on classic rock radio!

The little ditty, ''Hippie Head Speaks'' was great - it cracked me up...

And closing tune ''Superman & Juliet-Bombay Magic'' is a great tune to end out this album, another stand out track....

Hopefully, everyone gets a chance to listen to this album....it's quality music.

I highly recommend it!

Beep-beep Yeah!
