Just for you Savatage fans:

Jon Oliva has stated there will be NO Savatage reunion. Instead the members of Savatage, past and present, are focused on Trans-Siberian-Orchestra. TSO has 3 projects in the making, and that is almost 6 years worth of work. As you know the mastermind behind TSO, Paul O'Neill, also produced Savatage, and he has stated he is way too busy to even think about a Savatage reunion.

The good news, though, is there will be a re-release of Savatage's 2001 "Poets and Madmen" and Oliva and O'Neill are working together on a Broadway musical version of "Gutter Ballet".

Also Jon Oliva's Pain (JOP) is set to release a new CD "Festival" which is slated for release on February 19.

Too bad about the reunion of Savatage but really without Criss Oliva it's not the same.

I have pretty much all of their albums, thanks to OB telling me about them. The Broadway project sounds interesting although I am not a fan of musicals as a rule.

One of my all time favorite bands. I like a little bit more their prog oriented albums, it's kind of a trilogy for me: Gutter Ballet (1989), Streets: A Rock Opera (1991), Edge of Thorns (1993).

I was lucky enough to attend at one of their last concerts, in 2002 in Budapest. It was a magic night. I still remember our way out from the concert, tired and sweat, with an aching throat caused by the singing and screaming but with an overwhelming feeling of fulfillment, accompanied by Silk and Steel song, flowing around us like Criss Oliva's ghost.

I have no idea why. Here, in Romania, is quite popular among heavy metal fans. Is kind of a cult band. Everybody praise Savatage. I know them since 1990 when I heard "Hounds" at the radio.
