| Best heavy metal band of the 80's I would have to say Twisted Sister or Judas Priest. I liked K.K. Downing and Rob Halford in the album Defenders of Faith, and DEE SNIDER IS KING!!!!!!!! |

| Re: Who was the best heavy metal band of the 80's? ****ING METALLICA
i mean seriously if you only look at their 80s material holy shit it's all gold. sure they've moved on to mtv boogie metal and then sounding like thrown away misfits tunes (if the so called 'new' tracks are really what they are). but those 80s albums - kill 'em all - ride the lightning - master of puppets - ...and justice for all. they're ALL classics, just about every single track on each album kicks ass.

| Re: Who was the best heavy metal band of the 80's? well, I got REAL tired of all those bands that looked like they just got done at the poodle parlor so I needed some real UGLY Rock and Roll.
Motorhead!!!
I liked Megadeath and early Metallica but, to me, Motorhead seemed like the Real McCoyl

But if Poison is now considered Heavy Metal (the best, no less), please someone shoot me & get it over with.

I went to a Ratt and Poison show.
I've never seen so many cute little girls in their underwear in my life.
Heavy metal? No. |

I was standing @ the upstairs bar drinking Mai Tais @ the Rainbow 1 nite about 20 years ago, when Lemmy sidled right up next to me.
I stared @ his moles for a few moments, & looked @ him eye to eye, & said:
"Jeese...you're f***n' uglier in person than you are in photos."
Lemmy drunkenly mumbled "Ya got tha' goddam wroight, Mite."

Wasn't some of the Twisted Sister produced by Pete Way?
UFO had some good stuff in the 80s.
Waysted also ROCKED in my book. Didn't actually care for Iron Maiden in the 80s but I like them all right now.
I liked Whitesnakes Ready and Willing a lot better then the 87 multi million seller that I was disapointed upon hearing.
Saxon is another band that has grown on me. |
