For those who don't know them, read the following quote (partially copy pasted from wiki. Added some stuff myself)
Tenacious D is an American rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1994. Comprising lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Black and lead guitarist and vocalist Kyle Gass, the band has released two albums – Tenacious D (2001) and The Pick of Destiny (2006). (Both in the 2000's, that's why this thread is in 2000 rock)
They always try to be funny and most of the time succeed brilliantly. The first album has a lot of talking in between songs... Some hilarious stuff... The second album shares it's title with a movie done by Jack black.. Funny as hell ! And some great music in it. Tenacious D's music showcases Black's theatrical vocal delivery and Gass's acoustic guitar playing abilities.[2] Critics have described their fusion of vulgar absurdist comedy with rock music as "mock rock". Their songs discuss the duo's purported musical and sexual prowess, as well as their friendship and cannabis usage in a style that music critics have compared with the storyteller-style lyrics of rock opera.
if you wonder about the movie, look at this video: it's a direct cut from within the movie and the song can also be found on the CD.
A lot of the times when I get drunk, or friends of mine get drunk, there is some singing done... And most of the time we (or they) sing songs by Tenacious d (or the roof is on fire, lol)... For example Tribute:
They are just a fun band with a suprising amount of talent not seriously used the way it could be... The fact that Jack Black and Kyle Gass don't take anything serious probably adds to why I like them this much..
But I'm sure you guys will add some better songs Or just funny Jack Black stuff... Start posting!

I was a hardcore D fan from when the album was released in 2001 up until late 2008. I've since moved on a bit, although I still give them a listen now and then. I managed to get in the front row at their latest concert, and it was a grand experience!
The best part about them, is even after you stop laughing, most the songs are still good quality and fun to listen to.
Kickapoo is a good example (plus Dio and Meatloaf kick it awesomely), as is Master Exploder:
And my all time fave, Wonderboy:
And apparently they have a new album in the works, I'm keeping my eyes peeled!
A live show, videos, the HBO episodes and on the road stuff... double dvd - absolutely worth checking out.
The Pick of Destiny is also a great place to start.

But The music they do isn't really my style but they do ROCK in a funny way..
Thank you Thumper,,,I had forgotten about that candid appearance did you notice on that appearance that no one was watching him and if they were he was getting the "are you seriously singing that" look.........way way funny!
