Stone Sour is an example of what a metal vocalist can do when they stop screaming and actually sing and use melody. Corey Taylor shocked the hell out of me when he released Bother because I couldn't believe the goat screaming mask wearing buffoon was capable of that and I think he should stick to Stone Sour altogether. They still have the harder screaming songs but it's balanced which is better IMO. The songs I like from these guys are ones I can listen to over and over again and sing word for word. Great melodic alternative rock!
I have to agree with you Sooty, Corey does a much better job vocally with Stone Sour than he did with SlipKnot. Corey really does have a fantastic voice. I like Stone Sour's grungy undertones.
I also like (and own) the song he did with Apocalyptica. Great song and a great album! I like this band too. Through Glass is really cool and I need to check out the songs here from Audio Secrecy.
Why did no one tell me that the singer is from slipknot!
I'm not a Slipknot fan honestly Fisha which makes Stone Sour that much better to me. If it weren't for Stone Sour I wouldn't have known Corey Taylor had singing talent!
