I like Wolfmother so Stockdale being involved is a good thing. I'll just keep reading your updates in here Cosmic for the Official release info.

Ok I found the song on Youtube by the way since I'm sure that's probably an easier way to listen to it (though the sound is a little bit off):

Here's a press release on another new song Slash plays on...

GLOBAL SOUND LODGE

NEW SINGLE “HANDS TOGETHER” FOR HAITI FEATURING SLASH
ON ITUNES, AMAZON, NAPSTER, RHAPSODY AND EMUSIC

Hollywood, CA (February 26, 2010) — GLOBAL SOUND LODGE, a new musical consciousness comprising musicians Matt Sorum (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) and Lanny Cordola in partnership with Brendan Morrissey and Star Biz Management, have released their debut single, “Hands Together,” featuring a guest appearance by Slash.

Through many experiments and communions over the years, Sorum and Cordola felt a calling to explore a deeper sonic terrain. Now, in 2010, a transcontinental vision has emerged: Uniting musicians from around the world to form GLOBAL SOUND LODGE (GSL) — a tribe of peacemaking musical provocateurs whose aim is to create music with a social, spiritual and moral conscience, while offering melodies to those caught in the grips of poverty and social upheaval.

“Our first single ‘Hands Together’ was written for the Haitian people in this time of tragedy in their homeland,” says Sorum. “We are building a group of international musicians with varied humanitarian efforts based on situations around the world that need our attention.”

Taking their cues from sonic avatars John Coltrane and John Lennon, Cordola explains that GSL “excavates profound musical truths to create a new consciousness of social justice, cosmic harmony, spiritual unity and reverence for the earth.”

In addition to the new single, GSL have recorded songs inspired by Aung San Suu Kyi, a leader of the nonviolent movement for human rights and democracy in Burma, and Neda Agha-Soltan, who was killed during the Iranian elections of 2009.

“After many years traveling the world playing music and meeting so many people,” Sorum continues, “we believe it is in us all to come together with love and music to help one another.”

Plans are also underway for Global Sound Lodge to hit the road this summer and raise awareness for various causes worldwide with a series of song cycles and multimedia live performances.

Oh bloody hell. Seems they announce the release date without me knowing. Turns out the album comes out on April 6th in the US and May 10th in the UK. Also it seems they have dropped the "& Friends" from the title so now it's just self titled.

Here is the album cover and the track listings:

Standard Edition

1. "Ghost" (feat. Ian Astbury & Izzy Stradlin) 3:34
2. "Beautiful Dangerous" (feat. Fergie) 4:35
3. "Nothing to Say" (feat. M. Shadows) 5:27
4. "Crucify the Dead" (feat. Ozzy Osbourne) 4:04
5. "Promise" (feat. Chris Cornell) 4:41
6. "By the Sword" (feat. Andrew Stockdale) 4:50
7. "Doctor Alibi" (feat. Lemmy) 3:07
8. "Saint is a Sinner Too" (feat. Rocco DeLuca) 3:28
9. "Watch This" (feat. Dave Grohl & Duff McKagan) 3:46
10. "I Hold On" (feat. Kid Rock) 4:10
11. "Gotten" (feat. Adam Levine) 5:05
12. "We're All Gonna Die" (feat. Iggy Pop) 4:30
13. "Starlight" (feat. Myles Kennedy) 5:35

Classic Rock Slashpack Edition

14. "Baby Can't Drive" (feat. Alice Cooper, Nicole Scherzinger, Steven Adler & Flea)
15. "Paradise City" (feat. Fergie & Cypress Hill)

Japanese version

14. "Sahara" (feat. Koshi Inaba)

Australian version

14. "Chains and Shackles" (feat. Nick Oliveri)

So from the looks of things Meat Loaf didn't quite make the cut but adding Ian Astbury and Lemmy in there at the last minute is pretty good. They're no Meat Loaf but I do like both their voices in their own respects.

A track-by-track guild to Slash's entire album where talks about working along side some of his heroes, reuniting with former Guns N' Roses members, and recording with many current stars that are still rising.

I must say, I'd've preferred it if Slash had actually been able to get Jack White to sing on the song "Starlight" (like he originally wanted) instead of Myles Kennedy. Now I've not actually heard the song so I don't know how Kennedy did but I like Jack voice and I think it would've been awesome for his and Slash to collaborate.

A great album, first track is fantastic with Ian Astbury, not a bad akbum, probably needs a few listens, going to see him this summer.

I like this album but I'm kinda disappointed honestly. There are some cool songs but as much as Slash was hyping it up for over a year it just didn't meet that level.
I mean, there were very cools songs like "By The Sword", "Ghost", "Crucify the Dead", "Back From Cali", "Starlight", and others but then there were absolute bombs like "Nothing To Say" and "Chains and Shackles" (though the latter isn't on all releases of the album) and two of my favorite songs, "Baby Can't Drive" and "Sahara", didn't even make the standard pressing of the album.

Overall I'm happy with the album but Slash over hyped it.

The Slash Album is fantastic!

Fergie does a good job on "Beautiful Dangerous"

Ozzy on "Crucify the Dead" is another good track.

Kid Rock on "I Hold On" is pretty awesome, too.

I give this album a 4/5 rating

Need to pick up a copy of this. A few good tracks that I've heard on YouTube, but I'd like to hear the whole thing properly before making proper judgement.

When Slash is in Australia this month he will reunite on stage with Angry Anderson to perform Rose Tattoo's hit "Nice Boys" Apparently they are good mates.

Since the release of this album Slash has been touring with Myles Kennedy (of Alter Bridge) on lead vocals and I've got to say that at first I wasn't wowed about that but I've since been smitten by his vocals. Myles has lead vocals on two tracks on the album (the only person to sing on more than one track) and they are two of the finest I think.

guns n roses, the lineup with Steven Adler, and Izzy Stradlin had the best musical chemistry I have ever heard.
