Thanks for the recommend on this one. I just checked him out and am definitely going to get Back In Bedlam.
Just thought I'd give another recommendation for a band out of Canada called The Metric. They're listed as "post-punk" and really put out a great album last year called Live It Out. At this rate Canada is going to corner the market on great new indie-rock at the rate they're going.

| Re: Recommend Something New Just been listening online to a band called Zumpano from around the mid-nineties...sort of a retro sixties power-pop sound. They did covers of some relatively obscure Zombies, Jimmy Webb and WHO songs along with originals.I Like the sound, am intrigued, but looks like the discs are very rare...going for fifty bucks. |

Where would we find them? At least samplers anyway.

| Re: Recommend Something New Just got done listening to John Trudell - Rant and Roll. I highly recommend people check him out. Great lyrics. He's been around a while but I don't think he's very well known.
Jackson Browne helped him get his start. Bone Days is his lastest album. I highly recommend checking out the song Rant and Roll - finally available on Rhapsody, btw.

I have a Zombies tribute CD with a couple of songs by Zumpano. I was not impressed with their two albums. Of a side note. Carl Newman of Zumpano started the Indie favourite New Pornographers and his solo album "AC Newman" is critically favourable.

| Re: Recommend Something New I've been listening to Maroon5 lately. For some odd reason I really enjoy their music. I never knew of them until I got the new playlist at the radio station.
I hated them at first but they really grew on me. I picked up their CD this past weekend. |

Ever thought it's because you were listening to Christmas music all day at your station during December that they now sound good? :shirt:
Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm still on the not liking them much phase.

| Re: Recommend Something New Speak up Nirvanadude, Maroon 5 is a good band, and with their own style.
I recently picked up Snow Patrol's A Final Straw. I am pretty much enjoying the entire album. Great stuff.

| Re: Recommend Something New I've heard 4 or 5 things now off The Arctic Monkeys debut and I'm digging that a great deal! I would like to purchase the package.
I'm also loving My Morning Jacket and Iron and Wine with Calexico.
And MW's mentioned this Sufjan Stephens before and, Man, I just can't get enough of this kid. Really weird and pretty in exactly the right ways!

| Re: Recommend Something New Haven't heard Iron and Wine with Calexico yet and really need to, but I have heard Arctic Monkeys. They're certainly on my "must buy" list as well.
