Even though "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" completely steals the riff to Iggy Pop's "Lust For Life" I think it's one of the best rock songs of this decade.
I've only heard a handful of songs by Jet. The only one that I really cared for was Are You Gonna Be My Girl, which is a cool tune. Maybe i should give them a few more listens.
I've always preferred to see Jet live rather than listen to their studio albums. Here is Nic Cester with member of other bands including some of Jet performing Stevie Wright's "Evie". I was named after this song ................... parents eh? Could have been worse though!
Liked the first album but didn't like the next one, saw them live not bad......still there are some better bands out there, like the Wrights thanks salmacis and the video Sunny.

You've got to check out the whole "Get Born" album... its really great... its pure, balls out rock n roll, but they can slow it down and keep style too, that album gets a thumbs up from me

Jet was formed in 2001 in Melbourne, Australia. The band consists of Nic Cester (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, tambourine), Cameron Muncey (lead guitar, backing vocals) Mark Wilson (bass guitar, keyboards, harmonica), and Chris Cester (drums, backing vocals, and occasional rhythm guitar). They released their debut album, Get Born, in 2003, followed by Shine on and Shaka Rock in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Here are a few well known songs by the band:
Thanks, Cosmic. I looked back about 5 pages and didn't see anything, must have missed this.
Anyway, those probably are my three favorite songs by them too, although "Look What You've Done" has been played thousands of times in the car by my mom and it's going to take a long time to recover from that. :P
I actually heard "Look What You've Done" before the obviously much bigger hit on that album "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and I first heard it on VH1 with it's music video and I must say that I absolutely adore the video.
Well, I have to admit the leading single from Shaka Rock, "Seventeen" is a lot better than what I've heard from them before, but they're still not doing a lot for me on the whole. They are getting better though, which is promising so I'll have to wait and see if I'll eventually become a fan!
