there was maybe a half inch to 3/4 of an inch of "black" on each side of the screen, whereas now there's very little. The change simply widened the space where we read posts. Other than that, everything is the same.

My computer monitor has a 20" (diagonal) viewable screen and the forum's display has always filled my screen. Maybe it's a Mac thing. The only difference I see today from any other day are the ads, but they go away when signed-in, so... no real difference here.
