| Re: Guys: How Much Can You Bench/ How Much Do You Weigh? weigh 150 and can bench 200, maybe 210
I only work out twice a week and it usually isn't completely maxing out the weight though, mostly for cardio and a bit of strength training |

| Re: Guys: How Much Can You Bench/ How Much Do You Weigh? I am not sure...I weigh about 200 lbs right now, I have pressed about 350 when I am working out regularly, but I have a bad shoulder so I take it easy these days.
I would rather run 20 Km's anyway, the rush lasts longer and feels just awesome. |

| Re: Guys: How Much Can You Bench/ How Much Do You Weigh? I have benched 465lbs at about 270lbs and 6'3''. Right now I weigh about 260
and I'm not really sure what I can max as I haven't tried to max for years .
I considerate more on just doing reps to ease up on my joints now that I am getting on a bit in age but I can still hit well over 350lbs w/o a doubt. |

I think people focus to much on weight to begin with. I mean yea putting up some weight is good and doing it repetitively is great.
I hated the gym for one reason. These idiots there would try to put up as much as possible to impress everyone. I just laughed at it.
I even saw it on the military base I went on with my ex. It was so funny these guys trying to out do each other.
I know if I actually gave a shit about the weight being put up I could get it up to 300 and beyond. I don't see the need for it.
I have a friend who does not bench as much as me, but he is as solid as a rock and is just as strong as my self. |

If anything, I'd just try it out of curiosity. I don't really give a shit if anybody sees or not, I wouldn't be impressing anyone anyway. xD |

That's fine haha. I am talking more about people who do it to show off. I have seen a lot of people do so. One guy dropped the weight on his chest when he tried to put up about 400. |

| Re: Guys: How Much Can You Bench/ How Much Do You Weigh? Yeah, and if I wanted to I could bench press up to 12,000,000,000 LBS.
God knows that the only reason anyone would workout with way more weight then you can do is to "show off" .I hate people with little man complexes haha |

I think I got 300 one time but that was at least 10 years ago.I haven't worked with weights in a long time.I had a friend that got me in to it and I just eventually burned out. |

| Re: Guys: How Much Can You Bench/ How Much Do You Weigh? ^^I don't lift much anymore either, I prefer to just keep my flexibility and range of motion so I use the machines now more than free weights.
As for impressing people, I never got that lifting humongous amounts of steel plates was impressive at all. If it translates into your profession or sport then it is understandable to push yourself that hard, otherwise I prefer to just do things for myself.
Speed, endurance, flexibility and strength are all important and I've always tried for the best balance among those attributes I could get. |
