| Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Thread Not that I really care that much, but Jimenez?, for the Rockies pitched the first no-hitter in Colorado Rockies history vs the Braves last night. I am not a big fan of baseball anymore, the Yankees just outspend everyone else except maybe Boston to buy championships. And because NY is the media mecca that seems to be okay with everyone else, but hurts the league. Reminds me of the EPL, where you have 4 teams contending for the title every year, the smaller clubs are just cannon fodder, they don't even get an even share of the TV revenue. |

| Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Thread That is one of the best plays at home plate I have ever seen.
For you baseball experts, is there a rule that stops you from jumping over a catcher to touch home plate? I have heard some sports analysts saying he should have been ruled out.... |

| Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Thread ^^^ Yay! Red Sox....they're getting hot, like My Mets...
The Mets swept the first place Philadelphia Phillies, by shutting them out three games in a row. Mets pitching didn't allow a single run in all three games.
Tonight, they play the Brew Crew - the Bewers of Milwaukee Edit: What I meant to say in a couple of posts above: first or last - Lets Go Mets!! |

| Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Thread I don't watch much baseball, but it was funny that a few weeks ago the Red Sox and Mets were playing poorly and everyone was down and out. Seeing they play 162 games or something like that I don't worry about the good teams until much later in the season, like August. |

LG, You should hear New York sports fans....one week they boo you and the next week they cheer for you.
Listening to sports radio here New York is an ''experience'' - funny and maddening at the same time.
It's ok...in small doses.
I'm sure sports radio is all the same, in general all over, but in New York it's really intense. People freak. Mets, Yankees, Jets, Giants, Rangers, Islanders, Knicks, Nets - fans go nuts. Talk show host talk people off window ledges if there team lose 3 games in a row!
But, you know what ol' Frank Sinatra says (or sings rather) in his song, ''New York, New York''...
'' if I can make it there, I’m gonna make it anywhere''
New York's a tough town...but if you do good...you'll be treated like your King Of The World!! |

| Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Thread ^^You are right on target GM. New York expects to win, and if you don't then you get the business. But when you win a title you become part of the pantheon of legendary teams and players.
We have a hard core fan base here, but it pales compared to the Big Apple and the seriousness that they take with their "entertainment", after all sports is supposed to be fun. |
