Default The Last Exorcism???

Anyone think this will be any good??? I'm such a fan of the original Exorcist that I'm ALWAYS skeptical and always let down.

Another thing...is it mandatory for the posessed to be a young female and while posessed to be in a long cotton nightgown.

OK...onto the trailer...

It will be cool if you go into it without preconceptions! The Exorcist is great but an unfair measuring stick I think! I've seen the trailer and think I'll be spooked and that's all I can base it on.

This looks scarier so far than what's come out before. I love the concept so I WILL see it and hope for the best.

So what are your thoughts on the long cotton nightgowns??

Should the posessed have a change of wardrobe in this day and age??

That's where I always slip up when I think a movie is going to be any good or not.. The trailer is always better than the movie..
These types of movies are not my favorites only because the director throws the element of surprise at you when you least expect it.. Some like to be jolted out of their seats..Me.. I like my heart kept in my chest.. And I spook easily because I live alone so night times and thoughts of possessed girls.. Kinda freak me out..

Yes, good point! just a note on the director, Eli Roth: I like him! I'm not saying that Hostel was great. I enjoyed them but they weren't "serious" horror and weren't meant to be. They were a big homage to horror with a director you can tell LOVES the genre and has fun with it. To me "The Hostel" movies were great fun. A lot of popular horror is sex, violence and dark humor. He knows that so I respect him. This will be a chance to see if he can transcend his work though and make a serious horror movie which makes up do more than cringe but rather be legitimately scared without gore slapped in our face. The BEST horror uses our own mind against us by giving us an idea on screen and letting our real fears and imagination take over!

This looks good, I'll definitely be putting it on my 'to see' list.

Absolutely. I always find films that don't go over the top on special effects scarier, films that play with your mind and set your imagination into overdrive, nothing is more frightening than what we can conjure up in our own minds!

Have any of you seen this:

It's based on the actual case that was the inspiration for The Excorcist. Thought it was a really good film.
