| Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed Don't know how serious this is but on content sites that show up in a Google search, there are no links to the growing number of “cougar” dating sites, matching older women with younger men. Google has recently deemed those dating sites “nonfamily safe,” and therefore its ads for such sites containing the word “cougar” will not be allowed on so-called content pages.
Do you agree that cougar relationships are not family safe? What next.

| Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed I think some filtering is ok - the ones who are really looking for it will certainly still be able to find it but there's no need to have it top of your search results every time
And funny you should bring this up - yesterday, I think it was, I suddenly half-heard a tv-spot for a new series on TV. Something that had to do with MILF's in the title!! I mean, sheesh, there's no end to the pornofication of popular culture??

| Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed I'm confused! What's wrong with cougars or inappropriate about that sort of relationship. That type of relationship just means the woman is older and not robbing the cradle. I assume on a dating site the male has to beat least 18, right? Weird that it's a big deal! |

They're not. My buddies will typically eat your family! |

| Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed "Content sites"? What on Earth does that mean?
I'm a straight shooter. My Google has all filters turned off. I get a bunch of cougar dating sites when I type that in. Family safe? Meh, not my concern... Any kid should now how to turn that censorship crap off anyway. Is cougar dating family safe? Of course it is. But you can't expect the normies to know what the hell they're talking about. They're a bunch of normies!

| Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed Is it family safe? Sex and sexually explicit materials in the media or on the internet is sex no matter what age the participants are. Where the boundaries are crossed is when things go below the "age of consent".
I personally would have a hard time believing that a legitimate dating site would deal with underage patrons. If a woman advertises for a date younger than herself, that is her business. Labelling a site for cougar or milf activity is really harming no one. Those are slang terms, anyway. |

It means not advertising sites. They provide potentially educational and topical content about the products they are promoting, or appear to promote products as a side focus. The ads that appear along a content site are called product info site.
I tried Googling "cougar dating" and got only pure ads. I don't quite see the rationale of that if ads in "content" sites are off limits.

| Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed I'm not sure if you mean kids are being exposed to ads for cougar dating or kids are searching for pictures of cougars and up pops a bunch of cougar dating sites.
Ultimately, this filtering of the internet and television is redundant. My two nieces, 12 and 15 respectively, know more than enough at their age to turn even a saran wrapped veteran hooker blue in the face. Hec, when we were 12, we had short stacks of Playboys and Penthouse magazine in our tree houses or we knew whose dad kept them in the dresser! |

No, it has nothing to do with kids finding the sites by accident. Google is doing it to discourage minors from searching for older women, especially as some sites were malicious. The "content" site probably encourages young men-older women relationships as reliable information, and that is what they meant by "not family safe" - at least that is how I understood it. After the recent murder of an 18 year old girl in Australia who thought she was getting a job via the internet, they might have a point.
If you search for "cougar" the ads still come up.

| | Guest | Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed I don't care what other people do but I could NEVER date a younger man. Even if he were a year younger than myself, I would still feel like I am dating a kid. Doesn't matter who it is. I enjoyed looking at Robert Pattinson....until I found out he was younger than I was. The attraction faded quickly, not that he is really my type, anyways. I usually don't go for the ones all the little girls like so I already felt dirty.
...and, yes, if Page were younger than me, I wouldn't want to tap that anymore. Younger men = immediate turn off for me.

You are too young. When you are older, the age difference disappears.

| Re: Sorry ladies, no cougars allowed How can you tell they are younger than you though? You could ask but sometimes they lie. I have dated a younger man. I was 21 and he was 19 but looked older. It didn't bother me at all. It wasn't a serious thing and we had fun. We are still good friends. |

My husband is 12 years older than I am, lol. I don't have a problem with age gaps, I just don't personally dig younger guys.
