| Re: Serious Discussions and Debate forum! I've never understood the rule about not being able to mention other forums on CRF. I belong to several web forums and people mention other forums freely without a second thought. Usually it is in reference to a question or thread and that's the end of it. I wouldn't have discovered CRF if it wasn't mentioned elsewhere. I might have ended up stumbling across it eventually but I might still be wallowing in the darkness.
Not trying to stir up dust bunnies or anything and they are the rules but just puzzling, that's all. |

What the rule actually means is members are not allowed to bring crap from other forums, i.e. other music forums specifically, onto this forum. This place is supposed to constitute a fresh start. Ancient feuds are supposed to be left behind. |

Oh, I totally understand.
I should clarify that most of the other sites I belong to are vintage automotive enthusiast sites. The forum reference is in response to a given poster's question regarding a specific vehicle marque and finding out more info pertaining to it.
Or occasionally, a foreign thread is linked if it deals with a fraudulent/clone musclecar being sold as the real deal and the facts must be brought out in the open to protect a potential purchaser of said vehicle from being scammed out of major dollars with the promotion of forged documents.
Rock on... |

| Re: Serious Discussions and Debate forum! i don't see why foxhounds thread was closed. if these outbursts are distracting from the main point of the forum (music) then why not shut down the entire serious discussion forum instead of this specific thread? doesn't make any sense to me |

What MetalPriest said plus the decision about the Serious Discussions Forum is coming up soon anyway! Do you remember that shutting it down was one of the options? |

I find this an easy explanation! If there is already a number of political threads up where people are having nearly the same conversations and it's going nowhere and a thread comes up during that same time interval bringing those exact same factors together then yeah, it's a no brainer for me that it's time to get away from that at the time. I only had one vote and I've made it quite clear that I want the serious discussions forum closed and why. I stand by that and since then I've been even more convinced! |

| Re: Serious Discussions and Debate forum! We already have an opinion of Obama thread with lot of bashing and a Bush "worst president" thread so that poll does seem redundant.
