| Re: June: LGBT Pride Month A person being gay has no effect on me whatsoever. Although that's the first I've heard of Rob's coming out, I still like Judas Priest's music as much as I did a couple of minutes ago. A few of my friends are gay too, and I get along with them the same as anyone else, so all of this is no big deal to me As the current band of the month would say, Let it be!

yeap that is basically my feelings about the subject. I also believe they should have the same rights as anyone else including marriage(or at least unions with all rights of a married couple). I know quite a few gays/lesbians thru my life and have dealt with a few issues where they weren't able to see their loved one in the hospital and not able to get their benefits when one dies all because of the silly laws that don't allow them the proper rights that married couples have. |

It's very sad, especially the way some estates (wills) have been settled and how partners have been screwed. |

1. Campaigning is fine. For any part of the funding for this campaigning to be drawn from the public purse is wrong.
2. For governments to be enjoined from discrimination is right and proper. For individuals to be prohibited by law from discriminating is wrong.

I agree Flower I happen to work in the pension field and was forced to tell a lifepartner that the pension money goes to the estate. Also in the mid 90's a friend of the family, who is gay, couldn't see his lifetime partner of 20+ years for the last 20 days of his life because he was in the hospital dying and only family members were allowed. I know some of these laws have changed but some still have not. |

As the thread OP stated, this is a serious topic and taken very seriously by everyone, including those that are opposed. |

Why thank you Sooty. I think you have a very optimal view on this subject.

The LGBT society has brought some really cool things into society. Here's some of the coolest members of the LGBT society (excluding Cosmic of course!) |
I think I speak for a number of people when I thank you for your efforts Feldy.
Also I'd lament if didn't take a moment to say thanks for calling me "cool".

Aww....that's very sad. In the last 15 years there have been great strides against that sort of thing so there is progress at least. Better late then never.

We need a grass roots campaign to prevent such grass roots campaigns!
Let's be interorant against tolerent intolerance!
Or... We could just play nice?

Enough of the piggish nonsense of people who can't handle equality amongst everyone no matter who they are. |

No one should be shut out of a love ones life /rights due to sexuality.

I believe it was Tennessee Williams who said "Nothing human disgusts me...unless it's unkind or violent.". That is the sentiment I most wish to see out of people, particularly in regards to sexuality or gender identity. To make the quote more specific to this however I would alter it to "Nothing human is unnatural..." |
