Default Daft Punk

Daft Punk are an electronic duo consisting of Frenchmen Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They were formed in 1987 and have been creating music to this day, despite only releasing 3 studio albums. (with another on it's way)

They are however, more famous for their outstanding "Alive" live show and mostly famous for the groundbreaking "Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem", an animated science fiction film with all audio comprised of thier 2001 album "Discovery".

And now for some music!

Even if electronic music isn't your thing, give them a spin because it wasn't mine either before I started listening to them!

I have a friend that is a huge fan of their work. They're just alright in my book, but they are the closest I'll ever get to liking techno so I guess that's saying something.

I have a friend that once told me "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" is about sex....which I guess would make sense but does anyone actually know if that's true?

I guess "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" might be about sex, Cosmic Harmony, but to be honest I don't know. But it makes too much sense to ignore. I'll try to do me a little research and see if I can get an answer. Thanks for the smile.

Also, Salmacis, props on the Daft Punk thread.

I like these guys and they inspired Kanye to make what is in IMO a great third album that redefined hip-hop!

Anyway

One More Time

is my favorite song by them and the only one that repetitive that doesn't annoy me. It's addicting and has a cool vid!

These guys are. Amazing.

I'm not usually much for modern music but Daft Punk gets me going. Hell yeah.

They did a lot for the Electric Music scene. Really, they are hard to pin down. I'm not sure "Harder, better, faster" is about sex. It could be... I always thought it was about endless competition, pointless factory work, that sort of thing.
