Question Santana album recommendation?

So I've had Santana's great debut album ever since it first showed up in record stores. I've also had the absolutely incredible "Abraxas" album ever since it was released. For whatever reason though I didn't buy another Santana album until years later when I stumbled across a deeply discounted copy of "Amigos". Well "Amigos" left me appalled. I didn't bargain for jazzy elevator music! What the hell happened to the great band I'd so enjoyed previously?

But is there another Santana album that I can safely buy? Are the rest of them like "Amigos" or are there any that hearken back to Santana's first two albums?

Yeah, Moonflower was the first I thought of too. The third album is great as well.

I really like the "Supernatural" album from 1999.

For as good as his early albums are, I'm a bigger fan of Inner Secrets and Zebop!

His Brothers album recorded in 1994 with his brother and nephew is pretty good, too.

Zebop is an excellent album! It does have a few cover songs, but is also very well balanced. I would easily recommend it!

III is my personal favorite. The solo in "Toussaint L'Overture" is a classic. He sort of lost me when he went into his "Devadip" period, but later stuff was better. Moonflower is good, and Inner Secrets and Marathon were OK. His "solo" Blues for Salvador album is pretty good, too.
