Soon becoming restless he took up with drummer Mick Fleetwood and slide guitar wizard Jeremy Spencer. Bob Brunning helped out on bass until John McVie became available, and so Fleetwood Mac hit the road.

Peter gave the rock/blues world some real highs and none other than the great BB King remarked about this amazing talent.

After the glory days Peter passed into a depressive state and dark days followed with the odd recording in various forms. However he reemerged in the
90's with The Splinter Group.

Peter Green is one of my favourite guitar players ever, the tone he had in the 60's is just the best.
You hit the nail on the head with this one. I saw them twice in '69 and '70.They were incredible. Some of those vids of Peter playing a Strat are cool. He was always a Les Paul man in the early days. A couple of things, the tribute album Blues for Greeny by Gary Moore(who is an absolutely mind numbing string bender in his own right) plays Peters Les Paul guitar on the album is worth picking up.And Peter Greens first solo venture The End of the Game is very interesting, lots of jamming,I love it.Cheers FTM

I went along with Tray and Sweaty to see my nephews band last night. He was playing at a local pub but his partner in crime was away in France so he scrambled a makeshift band together to do the gig. They played plenty of Jazz tunes but kept throwing the odd Peter Green number in. Here's a couple they covered.

Great to see Peter's music being kept alive.

Peter's influence on the guitar heroes of the 70's is without question, yet his humble attitude never ceases to amaze me and in that respect he reminds me very much of Rory Gallagher. Two brilliant musicians.

Peter and Fleetwood Mac

And here, I think with a birthday present of studio time from his then boss John Mayall.
