| Re: Best artists to start into the blues? Any Butterfield Blues Band compilation containing the tracks "Born in Chicago", "Walkin' Blues" and "Get out of My Life Woman". These all sound absolutely fabulous on a good stereo with the pounding bass beat behind Paul Butterfield's wailing harp.

These artists influenced all following generations.
For more modern blues B. B. King and the like are standards.
For British blues start with John Mayall, from whom many of today's rock legends learned their trade. |

My favorite blues/rock guitarists. Joe B can jam! Very versatile. Seems to be very humble also. |

| Re: Best artists to start into the blues? It was. You posted this:Fantastic blues guitarist. Released his first album in 1995 at the age of 17. He was self taught, but has played with the heavy itters in blues such as Bryan Lee and B. B. King.
My favorite release so far from KWS is his second album "trouble is" which was released in 1997. this past April, and I checked out his music on youtube and ordered a couple of his CD's. |

| Re: Best artists to start into the blues? I'm just now seriously getting into the blues. So from my neophyte point of view, it all depends on what sort of music you like listening to. Me, I think the sub-genre that I like is called electric blues? I've gotta have a good beat, some cool blues guitar, and some passionate singing.
The most obvious one is BB King. I've always liked what I heard, but just recently got a greatest hits compilation. Same goes for Buddy Guy. I think these are the best introductions because you can get a sampling of the slower stuff and the higher energy pieces. |
